
Aykut Engin
Born in Silivri, Istanbul in 1977, Aykut was the first-born child to his parents who were working as public servants at the time. After attending primary and secondary school, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) as a Mining Engineer. Throughout his university life, he was very active; as a member of many student clubs, he took part in many organisations. He started his career while pursuing his MSc degree at the University. He successfully managed studying and working simultaneously. He published many academic articles related to his studies both in Turkey and also in abroad. He was invited as a researcher by Virginia Technical University in the USA. He currently continues studying for his PhD degree.
He started his career as a call centre operator at one of the most prestigious banks in Turkey and was promoted within less than a year to be the head of a large team when he was just 24 years old. As a manager, he was responsible for quality, training, organising shifts and motivation. The following year, he was transferred to the Business Development Department at the same company and for 4 years he played key roles in various projects. He was also given the chance to attend training and certificate programs by prestigious schools and companies regarding management at the same company.
After military service, Mr. Engin, wanted to develop his Sales and Marketing skills so he started to work as a member of the Business Development team at one of the leading events company in the country. In just two years time at the age of 27, he was promoted as the Sales and Marketing manager. Afterwards, he transferred to a German company and continued his successful career there. Within that time, he managed relations among various national and international charities, associations and companies in order to organise successful events and exhibitions.
Currently, Aykut Engin is the Country Manager of the Turkey branch of an Exhibition and Event company from the UK. He is married and a father of two children.
